2023 CARRY-ON BAG POLICY
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY (2023)
Buffalo Harbor Cruises regularly reviews their public safety and security policies. The United States Coast Guard and the Passenger Vessel Association aids in this review and provides a wide range of information to assist in doing so. We collectively believe the proactive measures below, will enhance the safety of the vessel, the passengers, the crew and speed up the security screening process while boarding.
Buffalo Harbor Cruises is implementing a policy that limits the size and type of carry-on items that may be brought aboard Miss Buffalo II. This policy is similar in nature to the “Stadium clear bag” rules at NFL, NHL and Collegiate venues across the United States.
Buffalo Harbor Cruises passengers will be able to carry the following style and size bag on board Miss Buffalo II:
- Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12.” No buckles, grommets/hardware or décor can be concealing any part of the tote. A logo or decal can only be on one side of the tote.
A selection of approved bags may be found HERE.
- Small clutch bags, which cannot exceed 4.5″ x 6.5″ in size, with or without a handle or strap can brought onboard in addition to the approved clear bag.
Buffalo Harbor Cruises encourages passengers to not bring any type of bag, other than what is described above, as they will be turned away during the pre-boarding process. Prohibited items include but are not limited to purses, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, luggage of any kind, computer bags, camera bags or any item larger than the permissible size of a clutch. Medical items will be subject to search. Some items may need to be held in a supervised location. Exceptions will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the Captain and crew.
Passengers will continue to be able to carry items such as binoculars, cameras, phones, keys and personal items outside of their original bag or acceptable clear bag. Blankets can be draped on a shoulder or arm for inspection.
Security procedures are subject to change without notice. All concerns or questions can be directed to our office at 716-856-6696 or [email protected]
