COVID-19 SAFETY POLICIES & PROCEDURES

Buffalo Harbor Cruises | Miss Buffalo II is following all the stated policies and procedures that have been determined by the Governor of the State of New York, Center for Disease Control (CDC), the New York Department of Health, the New York State Liquor Authority, the Erie County Department of Health and the United States Coast Guard. The Passenger Vessel Association has also provided us, as members, guidance and directives to efficiently and effectively open with all necessary safety procedures in place. Please note that the guidelines outlined may be changed at any time by the aforementioned governing authorities and we will adjust our plan accordingly. For any major changes, our previously booked guests will be notified immediately.

Safety Policies and Procedures

  • Miss Buffalo II crew are required to wear face masks at all times while in the presence of passengers. Face masks are available for all employees.
  • Miss Buffalo II crew will follow social distancing guidelines whenever possible.
  • Miss Buffalo II crew will verbally affirm the Covid-19 questionnaire and undergo a temperature check at the beginning of each shift.
  • Miss Buffalo II will immediately notify the state and local health departments if a worker tests positive for COVID-19.
  • Miss Buffalo II crew will be required to frequently wash hands and use hand sanitizer. Hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the vessel for the crew to utilize.
  • Miss Buffalo II will keep a manifest of passenger names to assist New York State with contact tracing efforts.
  • Miss Buffalo II has increased cleaning and sanitation procedures around the vessel with a focus on high-touch areas (i.e. hand railings, door knobs, tables) during and after all cruises.
  • Miss Buffalo II will keep a cleaning log of the vessel as mandated by New York State and is available to view from the Captain.
  • Passengers over the age of two (2) and medically able are required to wear a face mask while boarding, disembarking and during general movement around the vessel. Masks are available for passengers.
  • Passengers should adhere to social distancing guidelines and stay at least six (6) feet away from other guests in groups no larger than ten (10).
  • Passengers will be asked to participate in a verbal health questionnaire regarding COVID-19 exposure, symptoms, or positive results prior to boarding. If you answer “yes” to any of the questions we will reschedule you to a future date without penalty.
  • Passengers booking tickets will be asked to present ID for our manifest to assist New York State with contact tracing efforts.
  • By United States Coast Guard and Homeland Security directives {Marine Security Act of 2002. USCG 33 CFR § 101.105, 33 CFR § 105.255}, all personal items and bags are subject to search. We ask passengers not to carry large purses and bags to eliminate this boarding process step for the safety of our crew.
  • Sanitizing stations will be available throughout the vessel for the passengers to utilize.

Reservation and Boarding Procedures

  • We strongly recommend that you purchase tickets in advance. Tickets can be purchased at www.buffaloharborcruises.com or by calling our reservation sales team at 716-856-6696.
  • We are offering passengers the opportunity to customize your cruise with snacks that may be carried aboard to enjoy. Due to strict Erie County Health Department laws, no outside food or beverages will be allowed aboard.
  • If you choose to purchase tickets on premise, we ask that you adhere to all social distancing guidelines. Please follow all marked pathways and recommended stop locations when approaching the ticket office for purchase. Please make sure that there is at least 6 feet of distance between you and any other guests. A mask is required at the ticket counter and waiting areas.
  • We are encouraging contactless payment options at the ticket office but will accept cash if necessary. We accept all credit cards and Venmo.

Cruise Procedure Changes

  • Miss Buffalo II will operate at a reduced capacity on all scheduled cruises until further notice.
  • Our fully licensed bar and snack bar will be open during all cruises. The Executive order of July 16, 2020 has forced us to suspend walk-up bar service.  There is a QR code at every table or section to allow for ordering and for this reason we prefer non-cash transactions.  We accept all major credit cards as well as Venmo.  This will allow for purchases that can be delivered directly to your table, section or bench by a uniformed crew member. Photo ID will be required for all persons consuming alcohol.
  • We will keep the current online selections as up to date as possible, unless circumstances beyond our control prevent us from doing so.
  • Due to the social distancing guidelines put forth by New York State, there is no dancing until further notice.

Sightseeing, TGIF and Sunset Cruises:

  • Seating areas are available on both the upper and lower decks that allow for the proper social distancing practices. We ask that all passengers DO NOT MOVE TABLES AND CHAIRS TO JOIN OTHER TABLES.
  • All tables are six (6) feet apart and the railings are marked off every six (6) feet. For your information, the upper deck tables are six (6) feet in length.
  • We ask that all passengers follow seating guidelines that are put in place on all cruises.
  • We ask small parties to utilize the benches on both decks to allow families and larger group to occupy the tables.
  • We ask that you remain seated, whenever possible, during your cruising experience. But when movement around the vessel is necessary, we ask that you follow all social distancing guidelines and wear a mask.
  • Our fully licensed bar and snack bar will be open during all cruises.   • All dinner items will be served to you by a member by All Occasions Catering. Please do not touch the food containers or serving utensils.
  • Due to food serving guidelines put forth by New York State, there are no buffets allowed until further notice. All food items are in plexiglass covered containers and are to be served only by a member of the catering staff. Please place your trash in the appropriate receptacle before returning to the food station.
  • We ask that you remain seated, whenever possible, during your cruising experience. But when movement around the vessel is necessary, we ask that you follow all social distancing guidelines and wear a mask.
